Sohail Zubairi is Senior Vice President and Head of Shari’a Structuring, Documentation and Product Development at Dubai Islamic Bank, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

A qualified banker, Sohail has held a number of senior corporate, structured & project finance and risk management positions in the UAE. He has gained significant experience of the Middle Eastern market over two decades, principally in the fields of corporate finance, risk management and syndication.

At Dubai Islamic Bank, he has played a significant role in the successful financing of a number of large projects in the UAE and abroad, including: Dubai World Trade Centre, Emirates Airline, Sahara Centre, Taweelah/Umm Al Nar/Shuweihat Power Projects, Tabreed (district cooling company), Brunei Gas Carriers, Malaysian Sukuk, DCA Sukuk, PCFC Sukuk, Nakheel Sukuk, and NBC Mudaraba Sukuk (innovative national savings scheme).

Sohail Zubairi teaches a final year semester on Islamic Finance at the University of Dubai, and is a regular participant in conferences and seminars on Islamic finance both in the GCC region and abroad.
